at the airport now woaahhh exciting stuff this will be my first time travelling alone
Going into a familiar setting, a place where i go and study is, always going to be slightly strange. i was pleasantly surprised by the exhibition as it was incorporated really well into the architecture and space of the building. As you step into Vernon streets College of Art we are greeted by Micheala McKue’s work which is sandwiched between the plains of glass, between the reception and the library, almost missable if your not looking for it. The work of Georgina Bolton, her made using cut wood fixed together, quite sculptural, is another piece which i think is fitted to the building. There is something unusual about art shows at vernon street i find that the building somehow soaks them up and makes them its own in someway. Maybe this is a testament to those at Leeds College of Arts Foundation staff, who have selected the students that will best work with the building and show, in anyway i thought that the show was well presented and look forward to seeing more.
